A Dent d'Oche

The following is based on the description on www.summitpost.org. More useful information can be found there. The Dent d'Oche is situated in the french Chablais in a dominant position over the lake Geneva, and specially the towns of Thonon and Evian 1800 m lower. Oche means "good pasture". Dent cuts a fine figure in the sky, as a sharp canine, a rocky and grassy face, or as a vertical rock. Descriptions of the paths leading to the summit can be found on the above mentioned site, since we have never been there we cannot give you any further information.
We passed by Dent d'Oche in 2004 when we were kindly invited to krichard's place near Geneva. We never actually conquered the peak we only got to a nearby ski slope. We had no map and only started the hike in the afternoon so it wasn't the goal to get there. The name of the peak was unpronounceable for us therefore we called it Dendeocse. Later getting to like the name we, the ones who usually hike together, established our association named after it. We haven't checked whether there is already an association having the same name but we suspect there are no other people stupid enough like us to start an association with this name. That's why we added the 'First' prefix.
